When a tree needs to come down

Not every tree can be saved, and sometimes removal really is the right call. Trees that have died back, split in a storm, developed serious decay at the base, or simply outgrown the space they were planted in can all become a genuine risk to people and property.

We will always give you an honest opinion first. If a reduction or some careful pruning would sort the problem and keep the tree, we will say so. Felling is a last resort, not a default.

Sectional dismantling for tight spaces

Straight felling needs a clear drop zone, and most gardens simply do not have one. Where a tree is close to a house, a fence, power lines or a neighbour's boundary, we take it down piece by piece instead.

That means climbing the tree and removing it in manageable sections, lowering each one under control with ropes and rigging gear. It takes longer than dropping a tree in one go, but it is the safe way to work in a domestic garden and it leaves everything around it untouched.

Check before you cut

Some trees are legally protected. If yours carries a Tree Preservation Order, or your property sits inside a conservation area, you will usually need council consent before any work starts. Cutting without it can mean a serious fine.

It sounds daunting, but it is routine once you have done it before. Ask us when we come out to quote and we will help you check whether your tree is covered and what needs submitting to Cheshire East.

Tidy when we leave

Every job finishes with a proper clean up. Brash goes through the chipper, timber is cut down and stacked or taken away, and the ground gets raked over before we go. If you have a wood burner, say the word and we will leave the logs split ready for seasoning.
