Tree Surgeon in Nantwich

Nantwich and the villages around it

Nantwich is a comfortable run for us down through Sandbach and Crewe, and we are in the area often. We cover the town itself, Willaston, Wistaston, Stapeley, Acton, Reaseheath, Burland and the lanes out towards Audlem. Free quotes on everything, and no travel charge on the price.

Old town, old trees

Nantwich is one of the best preserved old towns in Cheshire, and the trees match: big limes, planes and horse chestnuts along the older streets and in the walled gardens behind them, plus willows and alders along the Weaver and the Shropshire Union Canal. Trees that age need looking after rather than leaving alone. Deadwood comes out of the crown before it drops on someone, over-extended limbs are reduced before they fail, and where a tree really has reached the end it comes down carefully in sections rather than all at once.

The newer estates around Stapeley and Wistaston are the opposite problem: fast-growing trees planted twenty or thirty years ago that are now too big for the gardens they are in. A crown reduction or lift usually gets them back to a size that works.

Conservation area and protected trees

The centre of Nantwich is a conservation area, one of the largest in Cheshire East, and plenty of trees in and around it carry Tree Preservation Orders. Inside the conservation area the council needs six weeks' notice before work; a TPO tree needs written consent. We will check whether your tree is affected and handle the notice or the application as part of the quote, so the work is done properly and you are covered.
